Job Summary:
The primary function of this position is to work with the Quality Control Supervisor and others in Quality Control and Production to support Production in monitoring the quality of products; ensuring certification of materials used in the manufacture of dietary supplements manufactured at Oregon’s Wild Harvest.
Key Functions/Responsibilities:
- Walk the floor, perform batch record checks, inspect all Quality Control points (set up, equipment, metal detection, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) followed, in-process material and finished product/label), Document findings
a) Bottling/Packaging
b) Blending Room
c) Milling
d) Encapsulating
e) Raw Materials
f) Bulk Packaging and Teas
g) Bulk Capsules
h) Finished Goods Extracts
i) Extracts
- Inspect material in quarantine
a) Take samples
b) Release or reject
c) File paperwork
- Sage Software
a) Close batches
b) Release raw material and product
- Ensure compliance to Oregon Tilth and GMP regulation
- Monitor sanitation of facility
- Report any deviations of compliance to Quality Assurance Director immediately
- Label Control/Inventory
a) Keep track of and monitor all labels
b) Dispose of old labels
- Other duties might be assigned as the need arises
Qualifications/Skills:
- Must have high integrity and ethics standards
- Excellent analytical skills
- Able to follow SOP to determine whether raw material and product specifications are met
- Able to use simple measuring devices and computers (Inventory software, Excel, Access, Word)
- Able to communicate and work well with others in a collaborative, team environment
- Possesses or able to achieve thorough knowledge of Oregon Tilth, National Organic Program (NOP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) required
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; College degree in Biology Chemistry, or other related field preferred
Experience: 3 years experience in a production, quality or related field strongly preferred
Skills:
- Must be dependable, accurate, and possess integrity and commitment to high quality standards
- Ability to perform basic math/algebra functions to complete Production paperwork
- Strong Communication skills (oral and written)
- Fluent in English (oral and written)
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

- Ability to move product using hand truck (up to 100 lbs.)
- Ability to push/pull pallet jacks containing product of substantial weight occasionally
- Ability to work in warehouse climate conditions
